Web Page Rubric

Students are to research a selected country and create a web page that helps to inform about and illustrate a country.  It should include links to further information and appropriate pictures related to the selected country.  Student should work together in research teams of 2 students to gather information and construct their brochure.

Had poor use of design elements (poor looking site/page, most text and graphics do not contrast well with the background and/or are not easy to see and understand, fonts are hard to read, site does not use color or uses it very poorly, no hyperlinks or many that don't work, site map is not present or does not make any sense.)
20-26 points
Had nearly adequate use of design elements (fairly good looking site/page, majority of text and graphics contrast well with background and are appropriate and easy to see and understand, most fonts are easy to read, site does not use color well, some hyperlinks are working correctly, site map is hard to find or understand)
27-34 points
Had adequate use of design elements (good looking site/page, most text and graphics contrast well with background and are appropriate and easy to see and understand, most fonts are easy to read, site is colorful, most hyperlinks are working correctly, site map is easy to find and use)
35 points
Had excellent use of design elements (great looking site/page, text and graphics contrast well with background and are appropriate and easy to see and understand, fonts are easy to read, site is colorful but not overdone, all hyperlinks are working correctly, site map is easy to find and use.)  Clearly exceeded web building expectations by incorporating elements such as streaming video, audio, or flash, or creating quality pages or sites that were not required.

7-9 points

35-44 points
Most major web content is thorough and accurate, but some minor information is missing or inaccurate.
45-54 points 
Web content provides viewers with accurate knowledge and visuals of teacher specified aspects of the selected country.

55 points 
Web content provides viewers with accurate knowledge and visuals of teacher specified aspects of the selected country and clearly extends beyond the basic requirements.
